Bart,

If you can: try to use alternatives to 'styles'. Presentation properties are fine, but 'styles' can better be replaced by Page Meta Data WCB's. You might consider it 'deprecated', although an official statement has not been taken about this.

If you still want to use it, check the just updated Design API document for more information about the XML file Michael describes.

wcmexchange books example

If this is the only page on WCMExchange you can't take a look at, I guess a word or so on that page triggers your proxy to go into 403-mode.

I've seen that happen before on a proxy that didn't like the word 'analytics' on a page (the first 4 characters of this word triggerd the proxy to go into 403-mode).

I wonder what the word is this time, could you maybe clear that up with your system administrator?

As a workaround:
- go to wcmexchange.com
- login
- and after the login, hit [ http://www.wcmexchange.com/web/wcbservlet/com.gxwebmanager.wcmexchange.wcbdownload.servlet?wcbdownloadid=384 ]. That will take you to the download directly.

Hi Brity,

If it's a simple page and the other installation is similar (same presentations for all elements, etc.), you might use the export tool, available in /web/setup.

Otherwise you can copy the content, but you need to set the presentations correct after the import.

In /web/setup choose 'Export'. Choose the correct webinitiative, and if you choose 'page' after that, you can choose the page you want to export.
You'll get a zip-file that you can import on the second installation.

Please note (from GXD0041):

From this dialog box you can download the entire website. This option should only be used in consultation with a GX consultant because this operation performs only a partial export. To create a complete backup of your website you must also create a backup of the databases and all files on disk.

How to download an earlier SDK release

I can reproduce this, if I visit [ http://www.gxdeveloperweb.com/Software/download/Other-releases/GX-WM9-releases.htm ] (not logged-in) and I login, I get redirected to the homepage too.

But if I than again ask for [ http://www.gxdeveloperweb.com/Software/download/Other-releases/GX-WM9-releases.htm ], I do get the correct page.

Seems like the login mechanism forgets the page that you wanted to visit. I'll report that so it can be fixed ;).

Hi Johnsten,

what you get with both url's are the only way (standard) to retrieve the image. The rest is up to Apache (or IIS, etc. if you use that one).

Your problem is that the server sends something like:
'Content-Disposition: inline (or nothing at all)
instead of
Content-Disposition: attachment

What you might do (one of the many solutions) is to:
step 1. modify the url a bit, into e.g. something.jpg?download=true
step 2. let apache know (via .htaccess) that the querystring '?download=true' needs to send the header 'Content-Disposition: attachment'.

Internal link doesn't work

The log message is literally saying that your homepage is not published: "SEVERE: page has no current"

When you are previewing on the generator (localhost:8080 in your case) the page and links to non published pages will show for testing convenience.
Please double check if the homepage and the page you are linking to are both in a published state.

I found the start() method in my ConfigurationServiceImpl file:

EDIT: i found this topic, but the solution provided there did not really help, since i allready have the

definition.setProperties(new Hashtable<String, String>());

line in my code.
