When typing an article in Webmanager in IE, you can use shift-enter to set a line break.

But in Firefox shift-enter does not work.

Does anybody know how to get the same effect when working in Webmanager with Firefox?

Pascal,

What do you exactly mean? Are you using the rich text editor (paragraph 3.1.1 in the Content Management Basic documentation) or just a paragraph element or something else?

In my case, using FireFox 3.5.5, it all works fine. You can just press <Enter> and the cursor will move to the next line. If I use SHIFT-<Enter> it also moves to the next line.

Using IE6 (rich text), pressing <enter> results in a new paragraph, shift-enter results in a new line

Which WM version are you using?

That is the problem. Using shift-enter in IE results in a new line, but using shift-enter in Firefox does NOT result in a new line but in a new paragraph.

So how can I create a new line in Firefox?

Using latest Firefox (3.5.5) and WM 9.8.2

Pascal,

I think this has something to do with your FireFox. As I said: it works fine here, using FF3.5.5. There is a configuration for shortcut keys (about:config), just like when saving your page with ALT+S doesn't work anymore (ui.key.chromeAccess 5 (was 4)). But which key you changed / have to change...?

Does it work fine on another FireFox installation on another PC?

No, it doesn't work in Firefox on any pc here. It probably only works after an alteration in the FireFox config, but which one.

Is there anyone who has this answer. Cause we work a lot with Firefox, and it get's very frustrating that this does'nt work.

Hi John/Pascal,

I've tried to get the linefeed on shift-enter working here on Firefox 3.0 and 3.5, but did not success as well. In IE it works like a charm. I do see that the canvas 'doubts' (in a blink of an eye you see difference between shift-enter and enter, but the result is a new paragraph in both cases).

John: could you tell us what items you've changed in your Firefox? If you open op about:config they will be bold.

There are too much options bold and I didn't change them here! This are also options which you can change using the file menu.

What option should do the trick...?

John, what version of GX are you using? Because I think this is a bug in GX wysiwyg mode.

I'm not using GX, I'm using WebManager

Anyways... I think I used WM9.10.1. Don't know which version William used? Later, if necessary, I can try this on WM9.6.5...

It is probably a bug in Webmanager then. We are using 9.8.2. Too bad, cause now we are forced to use IE...

Pascal, now I see what you mean. I created a Jira issue to find out if this has to do with WebManager or it's a bug in FireFox.

http://jira.gxdeveloperweb.com/jira/browse/GXWM-8773

You can vote / watch this issue.
