Hello all,

Im stuck on something with in GX 9.9.1. Im working with paragraphs for our website and i'd love to know if there's a way to create a shortcut for adding a paragraph to an article.

I know there's the ALT+P code, but that one only works in Internet Explorer. Since Firefox is prefered, i can't use that shortcut.

So that's why im wondering if there's a way to get the Add Paragraph button in the toolbar? Or perhaps a keycode which lets me add a paragraph in Firefox.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

I would love to see this work as well, and not just for paragraphs, but also for images, links, queries, forms, etcetera.

Is there a way to get key shortcuts working (again?) in Firefox?

You could always try and use ALT-SHIFT-P to insert a paragraph.
I found this article on the subject.

Hmm the ALT-SHIFT-P doesn't seem to work in Firefox 3.5 on first instance. Ill be sure to check out the article later on. Thanks for the effort.

Hopefully somebody knows something else :)

There is a configuration for shortcut keys in Firefox (in about:config).

If you want to save the page using ALT+S set ui.key.chromeAccess to 5 (was 4).

This setting may differ per Operating System! Above is for Windows.
And be aware: you're changing the complete behavior of Firefox.

@thanx to this topic :)

Yeah i know. The shortcut for saving pages is also in the GX manual. Ive managed to get that working. But since i just want to add paragraphs, it doesnt help very much. Thanks for the effort, appreciated.

Hi MRak,

If you enable ALT+S, ALT+P should work...

But if you want to add it to the toolbar, the following will do the trick:
- Go into GX WebManager > Configure > Authorization > 'Tab' Roles > select the role > 'Tab' Details. In the bottom of this panel you will find 'Toolbar Icons' add 'Paragraph'.
- In the 'editor' interface of GX WebManager on the ride-side of the toolbar (just below 'Log out') you will see an icon, click on it. A big icon-bar will display itself, containing the icon for the paragraph.

Bit off-topic:
Is there a specific reason why you need the paragraph by the way? You could also just type on the canvas.

Thanks! ill try that. Ill report back later today (since im eating breakfast now :P)

And i need those paragraphs because our company website works with this. A bunch of developers made it this way. I would have done it differently, but im not in charge so... that's why im trying to make my work as comfortable as possible. Im kind of lazy and i hate the extra clicking when it's not neccesary. All the extra clicking and using the mouse will get people RSI. But thats another story

Thanks for your help!

For the record, alt+shift+P will open up Windows Media Player on my system, =D. But I'll try the other suggestions as well, thanks for this info.

Also, putting your text into paragraphs is essential if you want to properly structure your site's content.
