Namaste!

August 4, 2008

Don't you love the globalization that automatically comes with internet?

Today I am writing from Chennai, India, where we are training developers in the fine art of GX WebManager software development.

India is a beautiful country, rich in culture and traditions. People are very friendly and if you are looking around helplessly, often someone will come and ask how he or she can assist you.

You can almost see India transforming from a developing country to a modern state. The IT industry is one of the engines driving that transformation; currently it brings in some $10 billion per year and that figure is rapidly growing. Of course this also has a down side: with the growth come traffic jams, air pollution etc.

The level of education is high and for what we have seen, people are very eager to learn. You will find that both men and women are active in IT; maybe 60% is male and 40% is female. For many people English is their second language. People from different regions speak different languages, so you may find locals speaking English amongst themselves.

It is good to see that WebManager is picked up fast and easy across the globe. "Open" as a focal point of the WebManager 9 series is clearly paying off in terms of easy adoptation, easy implementation, easy use and easy development. Our students do not have to learn something completely new, instead they can expand their current knowledge and just latch on to the WebManager bit that they were missing. We are adding new enthusiastic developers to our global WebManager ecosystem!

Children playing after the rain Till next time!

Greetings,

Patrick
